The Second Best Pineapple Tee Ever

Another day, another pineapple tee, right? I’m thinking that after black and white stripes, pineapples are my #2 go-to pattern. It’s a little hard to see in the photo, but there are tiny gold pineapples all over this tee. I love it because they’re subtle, but a little glam and edgy when dressed up. I went more casual in today’s look, adding the red cargo jacket and a gold starburst/stick bib statement necklace with dangly gold triangle earrings.

Versatile and Stylish Memorial Day Weekend Outfits

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! And thanks to those heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I hope all of you are having a fabulous long weekend, and that you are able to spend time with friends, cook out, open up the pool, relax with family, or whatever makes you happy.

Today I’m featuring outfits that I wore and repurposed for different Memorial Day weekend activities.

1. Church Outfit

First up, this is what I wore to church yesterday morning. If you look close, you can see that I wore the entire Rocksbox set I received on Saturday! Usually I just wear one or maybe two pieces at once, but today I hit up the whole set. I think they work together!

Source Info — Gingham shirt: $16.99 (T.J.Maxx, similar); White Jeans: Catherine Boyfriend, on sale for $53 now! (Kut from the Kloth); Fringed sandals: $24.99, from T.J.Maxx (similar from Asos); Perry Street Necklace, Gorjana Bracelet, and Trina Turk Earrings (Rocksbox)

2. Memorial Day Weekend Cookout

Like a lot of people, we went to a cookout this weekend. Since it was also on Sunday I just repurposed my church look, swapping out the jeans for white distressed jean shorts and the statement necklace for a delicate gold necklace (Stella Dot’s Aurora necklace). I kept the Trina Turk earrings and gold Gorjana cuff and also added some white and gold seed bead bangles. Done!

I’ll post what I wore out and about today on Instagram, but the rest of the day will probably be spent in my designated gardening/yardwork (and painting, truth be told) outfit consisting of grungy shorts and an old ripped up t-shirt. I’m going to be doing some much-needed dividing of the monster-sized hosta and daylily clumps all around our yard.

Have a very happy Memorial Day!

Subscription Box Saturday: Rocksbox #3

Received my third Rocksbox set yesterday! As always, gorgeous stuff. Two of the three were right on, and the third was gorgeous, but just not really my style. Take a look:

I love how the box and ribbon actually matched the items inside this time. 🙂

Here’s a closer look at each of the items.

1. Perry Street Gwynyth Necklace in White (Insiders’ Price $59)

This necklace catches so many sparkles in the light. It’s almost opalescent, but it is faceted so it’s a neat combination. It’s short, so it would be great to wear beneath an open-necked button down shirt, or with a lower scoop neck top, or with a crew neck top. Although it’s so pretty, my style isn’t really pretty princess, and that’s just how this strikes me. I won’t be buying this one, but I will definitely give it the ‘ole college try. I am planning on wearing it with a gray tee, jeans, and my Adidas Superstars to casual-ize it a bit. And, yes, “casual-ize” is a word. Trust me — I’m an English teacher. Heh, heh.

2. Gorjana Mara Cobra Cuff (Insiders’ Price $68)

This little cuff is seriously cute! It’s called the “cobra” cuff, but I don’t think it looks reptilian at all. To me it gives off more of a tribal vibe. I really like this little cuff! If it weren’t $68, I’d consider buying it (my range for something like this is probably $15-$25). But I’m definitely going to be wearing it a lot while I have this set because it will literally go with everything I own.

3. Trina Turk Hexagon Stone Drop Earrings in Opal (Insiders’ Price $54)

These are a-dor-a-ble!! Like the cobra cuff, they will go with everything I own. I’m a sucker for natural stone jewelry, so these are right up my alley. They’re not too big or too heavy, so they can be worn all day long (a must for my jewelry). I love how the light catches these, but how they’re not too fussy like the Gwenyth necklace. I think I am going to buy these babies because with the $10 Shine Credit you get with each set these would only cost me $44. More than I would normally spend on earrings, but they’re very good quality, infinitely versatile, and can be dressed up or down (or anything in-between!).

Good stuff, huh! I can’t wait to wear each of these pieces. My stylist Cassie did a great job finding items I’ll be sure to wear.
